For sustainable products in a Circular Economy

ReMade in Europe

On 12th February 2026, heads of state will be meeting at the castle of Alden Biesen in northern Belgium to debate measures aimed at improving industrial competitiveness. For the first time in decades, regulations are proposed to promote products ‘Made in Europe’. We have no idea whether these regulations will be effective in improving competitiveness, but we are certain that the ReMade in Europe sector is already adding to competitiveness...and that growing this sector would be an easy win...

To support our position, David Fitzsimons will be participating in the Antwerp Declaration meeting on 11th February at the Old Bourse in Antwerp, at which a joint statement from industry will be sent to the heads of state. With the support of our steering group, we have prepared our own statement for the Alden Biesen meeting. You can read / download it here...

The European Remanufacturing Network (ERN) project received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement 645984.

The project was so successful that in January 2017 it was decided to create a European Remanufacturing Council funded by business membership subscriptions.

The ERN project (and the creation of a European Remanufacturing Council) was inspired by the earlier work of the Remanufacturing Industries Council in the USA.
